Terms of use
These terms apply when you use psycheinsights.com (the "site"), read the Psyche Insights newsletter, or use our approval tracker, data downloads or directory. By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. They are written in plain English. If anything is unclear, email [email protected].
1. Who we are
Psyche Insights is published by Psyche Vibes Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17229667. Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
Contact: [email protected]. Our privacy policy explains how we use personal data.
2. Information only: not medical advice
Psyche Insights is an independent news and information service about psychedelic-assisted therapy research, regulation and business. Everything we publish is for general information and education only.
- It is not medical, clinical, legal, financial or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional who knows your circumstances.
- Do not start, stop or change any treatment or medication because of something you read here. Talk to your GP, psychiatrist or specialist first.
- Research findings are often early, small or not yet peer-reviewed. A trial result or a regulator's decision in one country does not mean a treatment is safe, effective, legal or available to you.
- Nothing we publish creates a doctor–patient, adviser–client or any other professional relationship.
If you are struggling or in crisis, contact your GP or call NHS 111. In the UK you can call Samaritans free on 116 123. In the US, call or text 988. In an emergency call 999 (UK), 112 (EU) or 911 (US).
3. We do not promote illegal drug use
Many substances we report on, including psilocybin, MDMA, LSD and DMT, are controlled drugs in the UK (under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971) and in many other countries. Ketamine and esketamine are prescription-only medicines and controlled drugs.
We report on these substances only as they relate to lawful, regulated clinical care, authorised programmes and approved clinical trials. We do not encourage, promote or give instructions for obtaining, making or using controlled drugs outside the law, and we do not list retreats or anyone supplying them illegally. Laws differ between countries and change often. It is your responsibility to know and follow the law where you are.
4. Accuracy of the tracker, directory and newsletter
We work hard to be accurate. We link our sources, date every tracker row and directory listing, and publish corrections openly. But:
- regulatory status, trial recruitment, clinic services, prices and eligibility change quickly, and our information may be out of date, incomplete or wrong at the time you read it;
- the approval tracker summarises public sources (regulators, trial registries, company filings and trade press). Company claims are labelled as company statements. Always check the primary source before relying on it;
- directory information comes from public registries and from the organisations themselves. We check it when we add or update a listing, but we cannot guarantee that it is current or complete.
So we provide the site and newsletter "as is" and cannot promise that they will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free. If you spot a mistake, please tell us at [email protected] and we will look at it promptly.
5. Third-party links and listed providers
We link to regulators, journals, trial registries, companies and other websites, and our directory lists clinical services, clinical trials, research centres and training providers.
- We do not control these websites or organisations and are not responsible for their content, services, privacy practices or conduct.
- A link or listing is not an endorsement or recommendation, and it does not mean we have assessed the quality, safety or suitability of any provider, treatment or course for you.
- We do not take referral fees and are not a party to any arrangement between you and a provider. Any treatment, trial participation or course is between you and that organisation, under its own terms.
- Check a provider's registration with the relevant regulator (for example the Care Quality Commission in England) and its credentials yourself before you use it.
6. Directory listings, corrections and removal
Basic directory listings are free. We only list lawful, regulated organisations, registered clinical trials and professional training. We write listing descriptions ourselves, in neutral language, and we may decline, edit or remove any listing at our discretion, including where we cannot verify it.
If you represent a listed organisation and want a listing corrected, updated or removed, email [email protected] from an address at your organisation's domain, with the page link and the change you need. We aim to reply within 5 working days. Where a listing is inaccurate or we cannot verify it, we will correct or remove it. We may keep a short internal record of the request.
7. Advertising, sponsorship and featured listings
Psyche Insights is funded partly by sponsorship and paid placements. We keep them separate from our journalism.
Labelling. Anything that is paid for is clearly labelled. In the newsletter and on the site, sponsor content is marked "Sponsored". Paid directory placements are marked "Featured · Paid placement". Affiliate links, if we ever use them, will be disclosed next to the link. Payment never buys a change to our editorial coverage, the approval tracker, or a listing's editorial description, and it never buys a positive review.
Our advertising policy. We accept sponsorship and featured listings only from lawful, regulated organisations. All paid content must follow the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (CAP Code), enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), and any other law that applies. In particular:
- No promotion of prescription-only medicines to the public. UK law (the Human Medicines Regulations 2012) and EU law do not allow prescription-only medicines to be advertised to the general public. Paid content and featured listings aimed at the public must not name or promote prescription-only medicines or unlicensed medicines, for example ketamine, esketamine, psilocybin or MDMA, or imply that a particular drug is available. A clinic may describe its regulated service in general terms (for example "psychiatrist-led assessment and treatment for depression").
- No illegal or unregulated services. We do not accept advertising for retreats, ceremonies, "microdosing" products, home-growing kits, or any supply or use of controlled drugs outside the law, wherever the advertiser is based.
- Health claims must be evidenced. Any claim about a health benefit, success rate or outcome must be accurate, not misleading, and backed by evidence the advertiser can give us on request. We do not accept claims to cure conditions, guarantees of results, or patient testimonials about prescription treatments.
- Responsible content. Paid content must not target or appeal to under-18s, exploit vulnerable people, or play down risks.
- US readers. Paid relationships are disclosed clearly and conspicuously, in line with the US Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and native advertising.
We may refuse, edit or remove any paid content that breaks this policy, and the advertiser remains responsible for its own claims. Paid placements are sold to businesses under a separate written order or agreement, which applies alongside these terms. Questions or complaints about an advert: [email protected]. You can also complain to the ASA.
8. Our content, and the tracker data licence
The site and newsletter, including our text, design, logo and the name "Psyche Insights", belong to Psyche Vibes Ltd or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
- Articles and newsletter issues. You may read, share links to and quote short extracts with a link back to the original page. Please do not republish whole articles or issues, or the subscriber-only parts of an issue, without our written permission.
- Approval tracker data. The tracker data (the table at /tracker and the CSV and JSON downloads) is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, adapt and reuse it, including commercially, as long as you credit "Psyche Insights (psycheinsights.com)" with a link and say if you changed it. The licence covers our compilation and wording, not third-party material in the linked sources.
- Search engines and AI agents are welcome to index, summarise and cite the free content on this site, with a link back. Our llms.txt file explains how.
9. Acceptable use
When you use the site you agree not to:
- use it for anything unlawful, or to promote or arrange the supply of controlled drugs;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or our accounts, or interfere with its security or performance, including by attacks, excessive automated requests or introducing malware;
- try to get around the subscription preview to copy subscriber-only content in bulk;
- scrape the site in a way that places an unreasonable load on it (our data downloads exist so you don't need to);
- impersonate us or anyone else, or send us false listing or correction requests.
We may block access or remove content to protect the site or other users.
10. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights (for example under the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
Subject to that:
- the site and newsletter are free and are provided for information only, for your personal, non-commercial use;
- we are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from relying on information we publish, from decisions about treatment, trials, investment or business, or from using the services of any organisation we link to or list. Always check the primary source and take professional advice;
- we are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses (such as lost profit, revenue or opportunity) if you use the site for business purposes;
- where we are liable to you in connection with the free site and newsletter, our total liability is limited to £100.
If you are a business that buys a featured listing or sponsorship, liability for that purchase is governed by your order or agreement with us.
11. Availability and changes
We may change, pause or stop any part of the site or newsletter at any time, for example to update the tracker or directory. We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date on this page and, for significant changes, tell subscribers by email. The version on this page when you use the site applies.
12. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute about them or the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you are a consumer living in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
